Activities

Your family can enjoy fun activities for all abilities and interests at every Little Miracles branch.

Accessing our activities is easy. You can attend as many or as few sessions as you like and the vast majority of sessions we run are free. You do not need any sort of referral; if you have a child with a disability, additional need or life-limiting condition then we are here for you.

We want everyone to feel included and for everyone to have fun. Each branch has its own personality and the services and activities on offer are designed by and cater to the unique needs of the families who need and use them.

Support is not limited to disabled children and their parents/carers. We support the whole family and ensure that everyone is treated equally.

The range of activities we put on throughout the year is vast, from pantos and parties to themed days and trips away!

Many of our families find that they don't feel able or comfortable accessing mainstream activities in the community but attending with other Little Miracles families takes away much of that anxiety.

"I just wanted to say thank you very much. We all really enjoyed the pantomime yesterday very much. My daughter doesn't have very long left now and is end of life care, it was so nice to be able to make some beautiful memories she was very happy and really enjoyed herself. Once again thank you"

It is incredibly important to us that cost is not a barrier to our families being able to have fun, make memories and just be themselves. At Little Miracles we are so grateful to our corporate supporters, many of whom have funded activities that we simply couldn't have enjoyed without them. YOURS Clothing have sponsored our cross-branch pantomime for two years in a row:

"We have been working with Little Miracles for the past few years as we are so grateful for the amazing facility and services they provide for the local community and further beyond. When we support Little Miracles, whether its sponsoring events, helping with jobs they need our expertise on, or just lending some extra helping hands, we also find it gives us as a business, and our team members, an enormous sense of satisfaction to be part of this great project. Its also so wonderful to see the children thrive in the setting – Little Miracles do a great job – thank you for letting us help where we can."

Our activities and sessions are typically only available to our members; the exception to this being our Peterborough branch, which is open to the public on our Community Day which Mondays 10am to 6pm.

Please note that some sessions are exclusively for PMLD children and their families - those with Profound and Multiple Leaning Difficulties. These children have more than one disability, the most significant of which is a profound intellectual disability. These individuals all have great difficulty communicating, often requiring those who know them well to interpret their responses and intent. They frequently have other, additional, disabling conditions which may include for example:

- physical disabilities – that limit them in undertaking everyday tasks and often restrict mobility; risk to body shape
- sensory impairments
- sensory processing difficulties
- complex health needs, (e.g. epilepsy, respiratory problems, dysphagia and eating and drinking  problems)

If you are unsure whether your child qualifies for our PMLD sessions, please get in touch or call 01733 262226.
